Meals For Makers
Aurora provides meals for our makers once a month as a thank you and recognition of their hard work.
All too often the garment workers are left outside of the recognition process. It is those in the head office/main business team who are recognised and rewarded for their hard work but without the suppliers and garment workers there would be no success to be recognised.
For every purchase you make, a percentage of profits will be going towards this cause and we cannot wait to share with you where your money is going.
Look out for our monthly newsletters, for updates on how our meals for makers cause is doing!

One Tree Planted
We are partnered with One Tree Planted and pledge to plant a tree with every purchase made.
WHY?
Planting is a great way to help sequester carbon emissions. Through photosynthesis, trees absorb carbon dioxide to produce oxygen and wood. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity.
Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. Have you ever taken Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree!
Trees help tackle climate change. Over one year a mature tree will take up about 22 kilograms of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and in exchange release oxygen. Each year, 1.3 million trees are estimated to remove more than 2500 tonnes of pollutants from the air.

Sea Turtle Conservancy
Did you know that 100% of sea turtle species are known to ingest plastic?
Ingesting just one single piece of plastic has a 22% chance of killing a sea turtle.
This is something that really saddens us at Aurora. So, we are taking a stand and utilising this waste, by removing it from the oceans and creating fabric. We know what we are doing is not enough and in some cases, the damage has already been done, which is why we have chosen to support the Sea Turtle Conservancy by donating a profit share from every order.
It is the mission of the Sea Turtle Conservancy to ensure the survival of sea turtles within the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific through research, education, training, advocacy and protection of the natural habitats upon which they depend.
Sea Turtle Conservancy is working hard to cut single-use plastic. One of their initiatives is working with coastal restaurant owners to change the way they distribute straws, by offering a straw-on-demand policy. This change is free for a restaurant owner to implement – the only effort needed from the owner is to educate the servers and patrons about the purpose of the policy. It works like this: Instead of automatically providing a straw with each drink at a table, a server will only provide one if a guest asks for one. The best option is to eliminate plastic straws entirely by offering paper straws instead. Aardvark Straws, for example, are a durable paper option that can be customized with a restaurant’s logo.
This is only one of the many amazing initiatives that the Sea Turtle Conservancy are involved in, find out more at https://conserveturtles.org/
