Corporate Social Responsibility
At Aurora, we take our corporate social responsibility very seriously.
We want to ensure that as a business we are diverse and inclusive. It is important to us as a brand to be open to everyone and ensure we listen to our communities and customers. We wish to have a collaborative approach in all we do and always be open to learning.
As a brand, we have a responsibility to take note of our environmental footprint but more importantly, take the right steps to keep our footprint minimal. This is why we are working to calculate our carbon emissions and look to offset them against carbon emission projects such as the 'One Tree Planted' project, who we support by planting a tree with every order. Planting a tree is a good start but we are committed to growth and learning along with introducing more ways to cut down our carbon emissions and give back.
Waste also has a huge impact on the environment and this is why all our packaging is 100% plastic-free and bio-degradable. The plastic we use to create our swim and activewear is made using recycled plastics to avoid creating more waste. To help counteract the harm that is already caused by plastic waste, we opt to remove it from marine areas and recycle to give it a new lease of life. We are a circular fashion brand and who re-use our pieces to avoid them from ending up in a landfill.
We don't just talk, we are busy walking the walk. How? We support local communities and other charity projects. In November 2020, we collected unwanted clothing locally and donated it along with food to the homeless. This for us is not a one-off event. We want to give back and ensure people in need are supported all year round. We are working towards planning regular events throughout the year. One mission that is close to our hearts is supporting beach clean-ups locally and worldwide, working alongside the incredible charities that work so hard in a fight for cleaner beaches. Watch out for our future blogs on all of these exciting projects and more!
